A pair of late 18th-century Regency faux bamboo original painted armchairs, featuring ivory ground with peach/pink softly gilded straps finished with dots in a richer tone to frame the bands.
These chairs date from around the 1760's when it was very exotic to emulate eastern influence design. Both featuring spindle back and arms decorated in the same style and medium as the rest of the structure, a very unique and pleasing design.
The seat bases still have their original rush seating which does have some damage throughout. The paintwork is in good condition but the rush seats could do with a little TLC or being replaced.
